Here is my Amy who is have her surgery tomorrow. I will be up early to take her to the vet. I am so nervous for her and I know she is in good hands but I feel like a parent whos child is sick. Amy is a very good dog and I hate to see go through anymore tests and all the medication she has had to take.

She will be so much happier once she has her anal glands removed and wont have to see the vet every week anymore. So wish us luck and keep her in your prayers. I know some people might not
understand why we fuss over our pets and with us no matter how much it costs us, as long as she gets better thats all that matters to us! We love our dogs like if they are my kids! They are a part of my family!

It`s been a while

It’s been a while since I have posted. I have been busy here at home and shopping and trying to get some crafting done. I have been very busy with one of our dogs Amy. She has been going through some medical issues for a few months now and its finally coming done to her having surgery next week! We had so many tests done, X-rays blood work, and we also had a specialist step in with our vet. She has had infection after infection in her anal glands and in the process with all the antibiotics, it really took a toll on her tummy. Now she is on a special diet and on antacids and probiotics for her tummy. The funny thing is that she is doing fine other than a sensitive tummy and the infection just won’t go away. It is several types’ of resistant bacteria which is isolated in her anal glands. That’s why we are having her glands removed so she won’t have to be going to the vet EVERY week anymore! This is the only way to get rid of the bacteria. FINALLY!

She is a trooper and takes her medications well but no more oral antibiotics for her for now. I’m sure she is so tired of taking medication by now. I will keep you posted because she is going to be very sore and tender and she will have stitches on both side by her tail, so I will have to be with her at all time they said because she can’t jump or do any kind of running around for at least a week. I can`t help it but I am feeling nervous but I know she is in good hands.

I was a little crafty this afternoon and this is what I came up with. I had this bottle just sitting here and pieces of lace and some loose pearls in a jar and this rose and I added a little diamond dust to the rose for sparkle. It came out really nice for just bits n pieces.

Sunny Saturday

What a beautiful day we had today.The sun was shining and this was Sal`s weekend off. So we had a nice relaxing day and did a few errands. Then we decided to go get lunch at one of our places,Chipotle! We really like that they offer now brown rice! So we brought it home and it was a feast and my Mom loved it! But she was only able to eat a small piece...lol but not us,we ate the whole Burrito!

I spent the the rest of the afternoon organizing my work area in my studio because I had stuff left out from my crafting day yesterday. I also started a huge order from one of our new distributor company we resently got an account with during our visit at CHA.

It was a productive day after all and I think tonight is going to be a movie night here at home relaxing with our dogs Amy,Lucy and Baby. Lets see what Sunday will bring, maybe a trip to the happiest place on earth? I have more projects to work on or I might just have to go get my Disneyland fix...lol

Today is a crafty Friday with my friend Toni. We just hung out in my studio and played with stamps and and paper to day and then had lunch and then right back to crafting. Its almost Easter so time to get started om cards. I am also happy because it the start of the weekend and I think I hear Disneyland calling me! ...lol Next week is going to be another week of fun my Toni more shopping and getting our craft on. Scrapbook Expo

Paper cone

Here is something I did the other day using a papermache cone I had purchesed at from a local craft store. I used prima paper and some prima flowers and some strands of pearls I had. I also used some old sewing patterned paper from my Grandmas I had keept because I knew I was going to use it some day. The lace is also from my Grandma collection I have. I added a silk white hydrangea that I glimmer mist to add color to show you how you can add flowers to it if you like. I think it came out pretty good for a quick project I came up with.

I had a great day today because we had 2 birthday girls we had to go see. One was at my Grandmas house where my aunt had a partyfor her granddaughter and one for our Niece Kimmy which is Sal`s goddaughter. Afterwords we all went to go have dinner with all the kids and it was a blast. I love spending time with them. Anthony Joseph just turned 1 and he is so much fun and guess what we just found out last weekend another baby is on the way! I will keep you up to date soon as we find out if it a boy or a girl and that will make SIX. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Tangled B-day card

Here is a card I did for the other birthday girl who turned 5 on Valentines day. She is into Tangled and I had a hard time finding the stickers to go with the paper I had. So I had to come up with something. I made braided hair out of yarn and added ribbon. This is what I came up with as an embellishment. I added some flowers and pearls. I thought this would give the card a fun look. It came out much better than I had expected.

Just wanted to share what I made last night for my Grandparents and my Dad for Valentines. They have passed away so every year we take them something for Valentines to place on their head stones and this is what I came up with a couple of hearts and I attached sticks to them so we can stick them in the ground so they wont blow away.

Birthday Card

What a beautiful day to start the weekend. I was up late last night crafting and I did this birthday card for another birthday party we are going to this weekend. another niece is turning 3 and she loves Ariel. Then on Valentines day anther niece turns 5 so we have a busy weekend a head of us. I can not wait to celebrate their birthday with them. Rainy Crafty Tuesday

It’s a perfect day to be crafty because it’s a rainy day here and puts me in the crafty mood! I love when it rains here in Cali, which has not been enough this season. When it does I am in heaven. I love to open the blinds and the windows in my studio and watch and listen to the sound of the rain! Here is what my work area looks like today. I am creating a couple of projects today in-between a few errands I had to do today. I am working and a few projects and I will let you know why I am creating them. When the time is right I will let you in on it. So stay tuned!

Tomorrow I am going to be doing more shopping with my friend Toni, for scrapbooking and crafty supplies. I hope it won’t be raining too hard when we are out. It will be so much fun because, my friend Toni, loves to shop like me, and we seem to always spend way too much! …lol

Bird Nests

Here are a couple of bird nests I did yesterday using what I had here in my studio. I also redid one of my bird cages I had by adding a new nest and some flowers, different dried mosses and ribbon. It gave the cage a new look. I also did a smaller cage too. I also added some pearls and this is what I came up with. After going to CHA I have so many ideas I think the crafty bug bit me! I can not wait until all the new product lines ship to the stores. I cant believe the weekend is here already, where did the week go.I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I cannot wait because today is the first day of CHA (Craft and Hobby Association). It’s one of the best trade shows of the year! Its 4 days of fun, meeting new people, a few make n takes, getting some new ideas and visiting my favorite manufactures and some new ones too. I am taking a group along with me who are fellow scrapbookers and it will be one of my friends first time going. She can hardly wait and probably won’t sleep at all. Lol… Finally I will able to see all of the new product cool tools that I have been drooling over for weeks now. I cannot wait to see it and get my hand on some of it in person! Lol… I have my list ready of all of the manufactures I want to see first, camera in hand ready to take photos of some of my favorites to share with you. I will keep you posted as soon as I have a chance to post. I am so happy I am able to take along a group of friends with me to share in all the fun!

Mini Nests

Today was a beautiful hot day today and it put me in a crafty mood.I decided to make 4 small nests. 1 is in a mini flower pot. I used 2 really small nests and 1 about 3 inches. I had purchased them a while back and I did them really quick with my trusty hot glue gun. I added some pearls, vintage lace and feathers with dried mosses I had and this is what I came up with. I made them to add to my studio decor because I love to collect birds nests. I have more to make ad I will post pictures when I have finished.

I went to this really tiny fabric store by my house the other day and I found some really cool lace and its REALLY cheap. They have quite a bit and button and fabric. I am definitely going back for more next week. Here is a photo of what I purchased.

CHA here we come!

This weekend is the 2012 Winter Trade show for CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) at the Anaheim convention center. We are all registered and ready to go. It will be 4 days of fun with friends in the industry, seeing new scrapbooking lines, able to see and touch new goodies, make n take or 2 and shopping for new product from some of my favorite venders. This is my 4th year going and I cannot wait! I am hoping to take a few photos and post when we get back. I will let you know what I find and who is going to be my favorite company. I hope not to get to crazy this year…lol… Yeah right! ;)

Mini love notes book

Here is a little 3x4 Kraft book I had purchased the other day. This could be a quick project to make. I thought it would come in handy for somthing, so I covered it with paper and added some paper flowers, valentine die cuts, tiny ric rac and some tulle. This is what I came up with.

Paper mache heart

I was up late last night and I finished my paper Mache heart. I had purchased it at Joann’s and I did not know what I was going to do with it. I bought some new Martha Stewart paint called Chipotle. It was a really cool deep red and I love how it looked, I added ivory create paper which I hand stitched it to gather it up. And I made the arrow with a stick I had and this is what I came up with. I think the heart will make a cute gift.

AJ`s First Birthday

Here are a few photos of A J`s 1st birthday we went to on Saturday. We all had a good time watching AJ eat his first cupcake and the food was delicious. AJ`s daddy BBQ d and wow there was so much to eat and the cake was from Porto`s and it was a fruit tart and was so amazing! The kids all had cupcakes and so did I…lol. All of AJ`s cousins were there aunts and uncles and great Grandmas was there too. We love spending time with the kids. And we have 2 more Birthdays next month!

Valentine frame

Here is a frame that my friend had given me a while back .I said maybe I can make something with it later on, but I had no idea until yesterday. I used more K&CO and some create paper I had and this is what I came up with. I am working on a few more projects and hope to get them done during the week. I have another Birthday party for Sal’s niece today and we had gone to his nephews yesterday. I will post photos soon as I can.

Valentine card

Here is the first card I did yesterday. I used more K&CO and some ribbon I had and I misted the rose ribbon with glimmer mist called Mel’s Dinner. Today I am have one of my friends from high school come over for some crafty time and a little more shopping...lol. We did a lot of scrapbook shopping yesterday. So let see what we both come up with. We also had time to go to have lunch @ Mrs. Knott’s restaurant and it was my friends first time there and she loved it! I’m so glad that Friday is here. We have a Birthday dinner we are going to for one of Sal’s nieces who is turning 6 years old. Then his nephew is also turning 1 next week also. It’s going to be the beginning of a busy week for us.

Printers tray

Here is what I worked on the last couple of days. I did this for Valentines and gave it to my Mom because the photos are of my Mom & Dad when they were dating. So that is why I call this SWEET HEARTS. My Mom loved it and she said we were just dating at the time. It brought back memories because my Dad passed away 12 years. How time sure flies.

I used a lot of K & Co because I love the vintage look and a little bit of Melissa Francis and some diamond dust on the roses and the rosettes. The printers tray is from & Gypsies. I am going to work on a couple of more ideas I have in mind and will post photos of what I come up with.

A little Peek

It was a late night scrapping while everyone was asleep as I was being crafty. Here is a peek of what I was working on and I need to work on today. I will share a photo when it’s finally finished. I love the vintage looking Valentines cards and I remember during school when I was in elementary I would get so excited to write my name on the cards I would give my class every Valentine’s day. I could not wait to see how many I would receive and I loved getting a box of heart shaped conversation candy from my teacher. I still love buying the heart shaped candy because it brings back so many wonderful memories.

Hope everyone had a great weekend; It was a beautiful weekend with great weather to be outdoors. I have been cleaning up and packing all the holiday decorations and finally got around to take everything to storage. What a job that was. I also am getting ready for a little valentine crafty-ness and I hope to get started today.

I wanted to share a photo of my too little lady`s in my life. Amy & Lucy are my dogs who are both 5 years old and are sisters. They have the same Dad but 2 different Moms, and are exactly 7 days apart. Amy the black and white dog has been going to the vet regular because of problems with her anal glands the last few months. She has had several infections and has had treatments and so many different antibiotics because she has some resistant bacteria in there and its taking a long time to get rid of the bacteria. She has had so many tests and the good thing is that it’s isolated in her glands and nowhere else. The down side is that all the antibiotics have been really hard on her tummy and now we are working on that and she is on a special diet and milder medication this time around. She is doing really good and is back to herself which is amazing since her last visit. We go back this week and then we have to decide when she is going to have her procedure done to treat her infection again but without the strong antibiotics she was on. I know some people might think this is a little extreme for a pet and it is very costly but, they are a part of the family and there is nothing we wouldn’t do for them! I just wanted to share this with you because they are my babies and mean the world to me. I will keep you updated as we take care of our Amy.

Feels like summer

What a beautiful last couple of days we have had her in Cali! It feels like summer now what crazy weather we are having here and its only 4 day into the new year. Its been busy here around the house and in my studio. Taking down Christmas decorations and packing up all the decorations for next year along with the tree in the living room. I also took my tree down in my studio I wish it was more like scrapping getting done instead. I already started to buy new decorations for next year cause the prices I could not pass up.

I am excited because last night I bought a new computer that is way super fast with tons of more storage space! I need it because I am using my computer more and especially for my scrapbooking.
I should have it up and running later today as soon as Sal installs all my software.With all the blogging I do I really need a faster computer.

I hope to start to get a little more crafting done because C.H.A. ( Craft and Hobby Association) next month and I can not wait to see all the new goodies from all the scrapbook company`s. I am dying to get my hands on more new product...lol I also want to thank everyone for all the kind e-mails I have been receiving and I appreciate it and thank you for stopping by for a visit!

My favorite Christmas memory from my childhood - when I was little, we lived in an apartment in Queens, NY. My Nana would stay over on Christmas Eve, and help my parents with all the Christmas prep. Finishing wrapping, getting the gifts all under the tree. Well, one year, we were in bed, and I kept hearing a strange noise. I kept getting out of bed, and trying to sneak into the livingroom to see what it was. Nana kept intercepting my attempts. She would wrap her arms around me, and carry me back to bed. Well, I was persistant! Eventually, she picked me up, and put me in bed, then layed down next to me, and told me stories until I fell asleep. I remember laying there and her pointing to the stars in the sky, that we could see through the window.
It's funny with childhood memories - some are faint, and others are so vivid. This is one of those vivid memories, that I'm so happy to have.

I had a wonderful time here at home with my family and neighbors last night. I can not believe another year is coming to an end and a new year is about to begin! I want to thank all of you for your E-mails and wonderful and kind comments you have all sent me throughout the year. I am glad I was able to share a little part of what goes on in my life this past year here and all the many new friends I have made. I really am blessed with wonderful friends and an amazing family who mean the world to me. Best Birthday yesterday!

Yesterday was my Birthday and i had a wonderful day with friends and family! First we were able to bring my dog Amy home from the vet because she had to stay overnight for 2 days to do some test on her because she had been having trouble with her tummy for a few weeks. So to be on the safe side and all turned out GREAT! It was such a relief that she will be fine and all her test came out perfect.So I was so happy to go pick her up in the morning and she was so happy to see me!

Then we all went to dinner for my Birthday and invited 2 of my dear friends ,Mom and my brother. We went to a place called wild wings and it was Delicious and we all had a great time!

Then we all went to cold stones for dessert and I was in heaven! I love Ice cream and so did everyone else. It was a great day for me and thank you everyone for a wonderful Birthday!

P/S we did get a little scrapbook shopping and my order of goodies came !

I made this acrylic card the other day for our veterinarian because her father passed away a few week back. She is so wonderful to our dogs. We had another visit to the vet and I gave it to her. She really loved it ! I love to give homemade cards to people, I love the look on their faces when they ask me "did you make this?" I tell them yes I did and they tell me they love it even more.

I just wanted to share with you a beautiful layout my dear friend Mary Ann did for the little Yellow Bicycle. She is on the design team and this is what she created for their blog. Old fashioned Popcorn Garland

This is what me and my neighbor did today after we went shopping. We made popcorn garland.We popped the popcorn then we sat on the kitchen table and both had remembered when we did this as kids during Christmas time. I wanted to add the garland to my tree to give it a more old fashioned look. I think it came out really nice. I love spending time with my neighbor especially when we are being crafty!

This afternoon me and my neighbor went to go buy these old fashioned Christmas lights I had seen at Wal-mart and I had to have them for next year. They are flickering candle led lights. Way back before there was electricity they would light their Christmas trees with candles but it was dangerous, but that's how they did it in the older days. I had seen some like these a long time ago so when I saw them I had to get them because they were almost all gone, but I bought 4 box's!

OK I finally finished decorating my tree and put up a few decorations over the weekend. I made the garland on my tree and made a couple of bows all made from burlap. I made strips of the burlap and folded it to make pleaded look, yes I can use a sewing machine! lol... I have a Jerome sewing machine for scrapbooking & crafts I had bought a while back when I was working in a scrapbook store. I used my Moms sewing machine this time. I love the holidays and because only 17 more days until my birthday!

Santa shadow box

Here is a small Santa shadow box I did yesterday that my neighbor gave me a while back. I used what I had from my Christmas stash and this is what I came up with. I added some cotton snow I had from my tree to fill in the box and give it more of a 3d look. I need to get busy cause I am way behind in making cards and gift card holders, so I think I need to have a mini craft day with my friends this week!

Here is a little frame my Mom had bought me from the swap meet a few weeks back and she said, maybe you can use this to make something. She was right. So this is what I did this morning and I wanted to share this and all I use is what I had left over from my Christmas stash of left overs. I'm glad I save left over pieces, cause they come in handy. This what I came up a frame with a little Christmas cheer. My tree is finally up in my studio and I will post pictures by tomorrow.
It looks like we are going to get rain here in Cali...finally winter is arriving and it has been very cold here at night and I love it! I love the rain!

Tree decorating time

Here is a peek of the beginning of my Christmas tree in my studio, and its beginning to look like Christmas at Scrapbook Joe`s and I am so excited for the holidays. Mason jar light

OK I have wanted to make a Mason jar light so I finally did! I came out really cool and I added a nest inside to give it a little vintage touch. I had seen some similar on line and some stores where selling them in all sizes and making the into a chandelier styles but I wanted to see if I could make one by its self. I went to Ikea and bought the light fixture and I have a collection of nests and bird eggs already. I have jars so I went ahead and made a couple to see if I can. I did the smaller one with tiny Christmas light I had bought, and they almost look like fire flys in a small jar.Different colored light will look cool for Christmas time and I think I might just make some!

Morning Blue Jay

Every morning I go out into my back yard and feed all the wild birds. I have been doing this for some time now and I love to watch all the different birds that come to eat and bathed in the sprinklers when I turn on the water. But the last few days I noticed the huge male and female blue jays and I just happened to look out the window and had seen the male bathing in the sprays of the water. They are such a beautiful blue and I think they might have a nest near by. I tried to take a quick picture to show you, sorry its not that clear.

Christmas time

Went to Disneyland tonight for walk in the park to see all the holiday decorations. I love this time of the year at the park. I love the lights and all the beautiful decorations and the cold night air in the most happiest place on earth. Here is a picture of the tree in downtown Disney we saw as we were leaving the park. Tea cup nests

Here are a couple of bird nest I made using tea cup and a saucer I had purchased them at a second hand store for $1.99 ! I used different dried mosses and alot of old jewelry and odds and ends I had here.Most of the jewelry is my grandmothers which I cherish even though its costume but alot of it is really old vintage style.The nests look really nice in my scrap studio and I am looking for more tea cups to make more little nests.

I can not believe December is just around the corner and I have a lot of crafting to do. This is my favorite time of year and my birthday is almost here! I have to put my Christmas tree up in the next week or two! I am so excited because I love the cold weather and all the holiday decorations!

Thanksgiving at Grandmas house

I just anted to share our last thanksgiving at my Grandparents house this year because the house was sold. My Family decided to have one last holiday at the house to create one last memory with all of us together where it all began. This house is full of memories and will always be Grandmas house to us. It is going to be really hard to let this house go but it was sold a few weeks ago. I grew up in this house played in the huge back yard and love to stay over night! My grandparents had purchased the house over 62 years ago back then it cost them 7.000 dollars ! That was a lot back then.I'm so glad we did this one last time. Sorry if the pictures did not come out to clear but I wanted to share this with you and I am going to scrap this moment and cherish this house always.

Here are some updated photos of my mini scrapbook studio. I thought I would share my little crafty spot where I create my ideas and I get my inspiration. I designed it and I had everything custom made for me by my Buddies brother in -law who is a furniture designer. I still have more ideas but we will see when I get time to get it done. I love to collect vintage nick knacks,bird nest when ever and where ever I can ,because it makes me really happy and it gets my creativity going. I really enjoy spending time in my own little space. A place that makes me happy because I love what I do!

Opening Night

I am so excited because tomorrow night is the opening night of Breaking Dawn part 1! We are going to the Midnight showing of the movie with some friends and my little cousins. They are 10 and 14 and are so excited to see the movie. They went with us last year and it was so much fun with them. I can not wait until tomorrow!

Alexas Birthday lunch

Yesterday was Sal`s Nieces 8th Birthday and we were invited to her Birthday lunch. It was such a nice lunch with all of Sal's family and his nieces and nephew.We all laughed and just had a good old time.We are going to take the birthday girl next week to Build a Bear to get her her new bear. I had made her a build a bear card for her birthday and she loved it.I remember they day she was born, and now I can not believe how fast she is growing up. Time sure flies! It was a wonderful way to spend a beautiful Sunday! I just took a few pictures to share.

Rain and Scrapbooking

I just love when it rains because it the perfect time to be scrapbooking . I think they go together because you can stay indoors and be creative and get those layouts done.I like leave my window open so I can hear the rain outside and it inspires me to be crafty. Last night I was making a Birthday card for Sal`s Niece who is turning 8 tomorrow, and I made her a Build a Bear themed card. I had to go to one of my favorite scrapbook stores to get the supplies that's the only place you will find everything you can imagine, I mean really old stuff you might need. So I was up last night and here is what I came up with.
We are going to take her to the Build a Bear store for her birthday and surprise her and I just might have to get a bear for myself...lol we will have to see if I don't chicken out to be in line with all the other kiddies.

Today is 2 years a special person passed away and she is my Grandmother. I miss her everyday and there is not one day that goes by when I don't think about her.I have no regrets because I was there for her until the end. She was always an important part of my life and I miss not being able to tell in person the things going on in my daily life. I know she can still hear me as I feel her presence when I close my eyes at night, and I ask her to take care of our family and to watch over us. I miss her hugs and most of all her kisses that she gave that showed her never ending love she had. She will always live in my heart and I cherish all the memories of her as a little boy to the man I am today. I thank God for blessing me with such an amazing woman who is my Grandma. I am a lucky man!

I just love rainy days! Its such a perfect day to stay indoors and scrap, but today I had to go take my dogs to the vet for a follow up. They were all cozy in their doggy carrier and loved the ride. I love driving in the rain and the smell of fresh rain. It will be over by tonight but more is on the way this weekend. Cali needs rain and I need these day to stay in and be crafty. I love the rainy season and it looks like its finaly is here!

Halloween night at the refinery

I hope everyone had a safe trick or treat night! We did something different this Halloween Sal and I went to this refinery called ConocoPhillips in San Pedro California right next to the ports of Los Angeles. He had mentioned to me that every Halloween since he was little,this company gives out tons of caramel corn. They set up one of their parking lots with rows of employees all in costumes and with box's and box's of caramel corn. I think at least 10 different lanes and you had to be in your car with the windows down and when it was your turn you had to yell out to them
HAPPY HALLOWEEN and they would throw hand fulls of caramel corn bags into your car windows. It was so much fun and the lines where long with cars and family's. Sal said they have been doing this for years and they also decorate the parking lot with Halloween decorations and lights and scary sounds.You can go back as many times as you want, but you had to go back in line again if you wanted more. They do it until they run out and it usually goes late into the night. It is nice for a huge company to give a treat like this to the community and it was really amazing and wanted to share this with you all. Here is what the bags of caramel corn look like.

Little cousins Birthday

Yesterday we went to my little cousins 5th Birthday party at Chuck E Cheeses. I made him a birthday card and the them was soccer because he is now playing soccer . He love it so when he opened the card he was so excited! It was fun just watching him running all over the place and playing games for tokens.When it was time for the cake was he every ready for us to sing happy birthday to him.It was so much fun wating a 5 year old having so much fun and it brought back memories when I was young. I really enjoy spending time with my family. Here are a few pictures I took and I thought I would share with you.

Bridal invite

Here is the bridal invite I did for my cousins work last night. Her co workers are making her bridal shower and the bride is obsessed with Hello Kitty so they asked me to add her to the invite. I did not want to over do it with Miss kitty. One side is the invite and the other is a photo of her and her fiancee so they can save this and display it later as a keep sake. I hope she likes it. It had been a while since I have used acrylic and It is perfect for something like this. My cousin loves it and said they girls are going to also!

Last night I helped my friend Toni make a quick Cars banner for her Nephews 2nd Birthday.We had a blast just chatting away making this banner. We did it in no time and it came out really cute. We did it on chip board pennets I had bought and we used Cars paper and some tool and Cars chipboard stickers.

Glimmer mist mini lamp shades

I did a little make over to my little chandelier in my scrap room last week. I had bought 4 mini white canvas lamp shades from Lowe's and got a little crafty with glimmer mist and some really cool twine trim that was made in a cool design. I had not seen this type of twine before. I found it in a fabric shop close to me and that's what gave me the idea. I used 2 colors of glimmer mist to match my room. I used chocolate covered Cherry's and red velvet. After the glimmer mist dried I hot glued the trim around the top and bottom of the lamp shades and I was done! It totally changes the look of the chandi and fits my room perfectly.The shades glow a beautiful shade of brown and Burgundy with the lights on.
I am very happy how it came out.and I think I might redo the living rooms lamp shades.Ill keep you updated if I do.

My Friends dog

I found out yesterday that my long time friend Lost her dog Lyka. She was the best dog ever and I remember her when she got her as a puppy.She was a Chow and she was her baby. She had her for 16 years and that's a very long time for a Chow. The average is from 10 to 12 year life span.My Friend Gloria was so devastated and we went to see her yesterday evening.She gave her dog a wonderful life all the way until the end. We wanted to just be there for her and spend time with her. We took her out to dinner and that cheered her up a bit cause we sat and laughed and just had good conversation with her Mom and her oldest daughter Mandy.It will hurt for a while so I wanted to dedicate this poem I found to her and her dog Lyka.

You will be missed Lyka but you will always be in our hearts forever! XOXO

Puppy Paws

Sixteen years of puppy paws moved outside today.
Inside my heart is breaking,
the Light of my Life - Lyka, has gone away.

I held her head, kissed her blurry eyes, and said "I Love You, Girl"
With gentle hands and heavy heart, I released her soul to God,
crying for her spirit to be free.
Never dreamed it would hurt so much,
Guess I wasn't thinking much of Me.

But she must be missing something,
she left her paws upon my heart.
Kind reminders of the time we had together,
I never wanted her to be the first to part.

They tug as fiercely as the shoestrings she once played with;
the tug of wars together, the one's I let her win.
The "tennies", the toys, all the things she loved speak about her passing
and I fall apart again.

Those little puppy "grunts" and kisses seem so far away.
I cry: "What was I thinking?
I said it'd be OK."

I said; "I'll be alright without you, If you really have to go.
No need for you to fret or worry,
we had our chance to love each other so."

Our final road together remains yet to be seen.
Puppy paws can be so gentle,
the pain they leave in passing, so mean.

"I'll hold them safely in my heart", I tell Her;
"but I'll let them run at will.
When we cross the Bridge together, I know they will be still."

Here are a couple of projects I did last night. I did a flower pt I covered in paper and lace and made a pin cushion.I am going to use it for my beaded pins I make. The other project is with 7gypsies book covers which I decorated with a couple of old family photos and vintage trinkets. I thought it would look nice as a display for the photos which are of my great grandmother and her Aunt.

I love how the weather is changing and I can almost feel the holidays .

I also want to wish a special person very Happy Birthday my Mom because yesterday was her B day and I wish her many more.

Here is something I had seen and I thought I would try to make myself. Its made with a Mason jar and olive oil, yup ol oil. I love the vintage look and I used a black n white photo because it works the best with the color of the ol oil.I think I am going to make more of them because it really is a different way to display old photos with a old vintage look. I did this with a small jar just to try it out the next one will be with a much larger jar.I just wanted to share this with you because I really like the look and vintage feel it has.

I did this small 8x8 size the other day using scraps I had left over from other projects. I decided to do this one of Sal's parents. It was taken this past Mother`s day so I wanted to surprise him. It came out really nice for using left over scraps. It looks like I am going to have to make another one for his Mom & Dad.

Here is a gift I made for my Moms cousin who is in town visiting from Portland Oregon and we are going to meet her and her family for breakfast this Sunday in East LA. She want to go have Mexican food ! It been many years since we have seen her and her family. I thought I would surprise her tomorrow with this layout of her parents who are no longer with us. I hope she likes it. There are going to be 16 of us for breakfast so it will be fun just being together and spending some time catching up. I can not wait !

Rainy Day

Today was the first rain of the season! This is the my favorite time of the year because that means the holidays are just around the corner. I love the rain because I like the sound of the rain and its the perfect day to stay home and scrapbook! So I was a little crafty today and I finally printed up some photos I had been wanting to do. I wish it would rain more but this was a fast storm. I cant wait until the next storm.

My Mom gave me her old rolling pin she used to bake with, so I came up with this idea last night. I decorated it a paper and ribbon and a small photo of my Grandma. I used a little bit of everything like crafty secrets, prima and ruby rocket letters. I thought it would be fun do embellish something different.
I have been working on another idea today so I will post it tomorrow.

Cupcake baking tray

Here is a idea I came up with yesterday. I had purchased this mini cupcake baking tray a while back at a thrift store and I said I think i can use it. I like the old used look it had so I used a little bit of trinkets I had just sitting around. I used a lot of old pieces of costume jewelry from my Grandmother and this is what I came up with. I made it into a wall decor to hang or I can put it on a stand to display it. I love the vintage look of it. So I am going to keep looking for more thrift store junk to be creative and use up all of the trinkets I have.

Looks like we are going to be getting some wet weather this week. We will see what happens and I can not wait, cause I love the rain !

Vintage dress wall decor

Here is a quick wall decor I did the other day. I used Maya Roads canvas dress my minds eye paper and prima paper roses which i used Glimmer mist. I also used some vintage stickers from Melissa Frances. I am going to sell this because I made this for no one in particular just came up with the idea and I love the pink roses on the paper.

I am also working an another small paper rose lamp for my scrap studio. I hope to get it done by tomorrow I will post pictures when I am done. But we are heading out early tomorrow for a funeral for my Mom Aunt. Its in Escondido so its going to be a long day , it should be a nice drive and I hope the weather is nice.

Paper rose lamp

Here is the lamp I did the other day. I finally finished it and used the mini paper roses I had . The paper roses were white and I had 3 different sizes and I used chocolate covered Cherry's Glimmer Mist to color the roses. It cam out really pretty and at night the lamp has a beautiful soft glow to it.I am going to make another one and I want to use a taller lamp and use a different color. I will keep you posted when I do make it.

I'm just bought this last night from H S N ! Its the new Cricut 2 expression and its wireless! I was so excited when I had seen what it can do and the screen is in color and you an use ALL the cricut cartridges! It have 17 new features and with this machine it can be updated and you can add on new features as they come out.We just could not pass up this deal. it comes with 4 cartridges and the price was amazing so it was a had to have. So my Cricut Imagine has competition, now and its going to be hard which one to use. I can not wait until I get it, maybe this week!

Fall is finaly here

Its here! Fall has just arrived and I love this time of the year. I can not wait until we have cold windy days and Its also time for Halloween Time at Disneyland. We hope to be going next week and we are going to going with all of Sal`s nieces and they are so excited! We love how they decorate the park for Halloween and all the holiday treats they have , especially the pumpkin cheese cake. Vintage wall decor

I had been working on this for my cousins co worker and I finally finished. I did a vintage look using a girly line from the Girls paperie. I love the soft pink and blue distressed look and it was perfect for the photo.It is 2 Little cousins and they were eating Cheetos's and they called it the Cheetos kiss. Its on a flat canvas panel and I think it is such a cute photo. I can not wait to give it to her.

I just wanted to share with you this gift I received from my neighbor yesterday.She made me this cute plant with moss and in a glass vase. I love the fern plant in it and it looks great in my scrap studio. I am definitely getting more and I want to use vintage glass vases and jars.

She is a really great neighbor and scrapping Buddie! Thanks Marina!

My Dad

Today was 12 years ago that my Father passed away. I can not believe how fast time flies. Today we had a mass for my Dad this morning which we all went. It is amazing when you have lost someone so close and you miss them every day, and yet life still goes on.We spent a quiet day at home today. We all have wonderful memories of my Dad, just remembering him on this day.

Halloween Birthday Invitations

Pony layout

Here is a layout I did last night I had been putting off. Its a page of one of Sal`s nieces pony photos and she was 5 years old at the time. That was 2 years back and I had put this stuff away to make it, and I just found it the other day.I used a little bit of everything I had purchased in the past. It came out good considering I had no particular line to scrap with. I hope she likes the page.

I finally got my banner punch today! I had been waiting for it but I hadn't had a chance to pick it up from my friend Mary Ann. So I went for a visit and finally get to play with my punch. Its from stamping up and she ordered one for the both of us. Lets see what I come up with this is a really cool punch cause banners are really popular right now.

Captian America B-day card

Here is a card I did for one of my friends sons who was turning 5 this weekend. He is into Captain America his Mom told me ever since the movie came out. So I just had to make it Captain America and I had a hard time trying to find the stuff but I was on a mission and it paid off ! I finally found it after running around all over the place and I finally remembered where I had seen all kinds of super hero's scrapbooking stuff.Yup at Wooten's in Tustin. I was so happy and I can not wait until he sees it.

Here is a collage I did of when we too Sal's nieces to Goofy`s Kitchen a couple of months back. They had a blast and it was just a all around perfect day!I thought I would make this so I could make them their page for their scrapbook.I just wanted to share it with you.

My EK flower punches

Here are some of the new EK flower punches and I can not wait to use them. 3 of them are the flower punches and 1 is a new edge flower punch. I can not wait to play with them. and the cool thing is you can use your left over pieces of paper from your projects and create matching paper flowers.There is 1 more flower punch I need to get and they have more really cook new edge punches.I just wanted to share them with you.

Here is a peek of what I have been working on today and I am almost done. I am making a Halloween banner for a birthday party and I am just about done with the invites. I am using We R Memory Keeper's Spokyville line. It is one of my favorite lines this year for Halloween. I will post the invites when I am done. Looks like I will be busy again tomorrow. What a crazy day today we had rain and it was hot, then we had thunder and lightning tonight with more light rain. Crazy California weather, I wonder what tomorrow will be like.

Here is the other birthday card I did for my little cousin E (Ethan) He is so into birds right now because of the movie Rio he had seen. Its his favorite right now! So his birthday is this weekend and guess what he asked for... A BIRD! He wants a Canary ,so his Grandma and his Mom are getting him his first bird! He is going to be 8 and I think it will be good for him to learn how to be responsible to take care of a pet. I hope he likes the card. I think I came up with a card he will like. I used bits n pieces I had and used some of my stamps.

I was up late last night making a really quick Birthday card for Sal`s Mom. I have been working on some Halloween invitations this week and I almost forgot about the card. I used some Prima papers and flowers and K&CO stickers and ribbons from my ribbon stash. I hope she likes it her birthday is this weekend. I have another birthday card to make for this weekend also, its for my little cousin Ethan. I will work on that later today.I will post a picture when I am finished with the card.
