{ New Keepsake Box }

 Here is a keepsake box I did using a box I purchased for $1 at Target and this is what I cam up with. I covered the box with Prima and I used the antique MOD PODGE and added some lace. paper flowers and some trim around the edges and I also added a butterfly. I painted the wooden knobs for the legs on the bottom.I used a string of small pearls on top to add some dimension. The color of the box was a bright pink with poka dots on it before I altered it.
 This is just a peek of what I am creating in between the yard work being done. I hope to get started in a day or 2 so wish me luck!

Thanks again for visiting and enjoy your week!

{ Lunch @ Ports O`Call Village }

Over the weekend we invited my Grandma`s best friend Maria to go have lunch with us in San Pedro and a really cool place called Ports O`Call. The last time we went there was 2 years or more since we got together to spend the afternoon at Ports O`Call at the Fish Market to eat fresh seafood. You go into the Market area and pick your seafood you like by the pound or piece,then you add mixed vegetables and order huge loafs of garlic bread then you have to go take it to be cooked. You tell them if you want it grilled or they can BBQ the fish and deep fry if you want it.They add a delicious seasoning on it with a buttery oil to grill it. They give you so much on huge trays when they are done cooking your food. We had a great time and we sat next to the water and watch the boats go by. They have so much to eat there like fried oysters and fried calamari and lots of lemon and Chile to go with it. Then after we ate we walked around the shops and they we stopped at the ice cream shop and had a ice cream cone. We always do this and we remember how Grandma loved to get a ice cream cone when we went. I really enjoyed the day with my family and we watched the boats and freight carriers go by while we ate our ice cream. I cant wait until we go back.

Here are a few photos I took.

{ Shadow Box Gift }

 Here is a gift I finished yesterday that I am going to give to Sal`s Mom. I Did this shadow box of her Mom and I added a poem called Family Chain and I did it in Spanish for her. I used a older line of Prima and I used some Melissa Frances embellishments to add some dimension. I added a small frame with a pink rhinestone ribbon in the upper right corner. I also made a picture frame to give to each of his 3 sisters of his Grandma.  I  added some pink paper flowers to embellish them a little. I know this is a difficult time but I know they will love them. The services are this week so I am going to take them to them today. I really hope they will like them.

{ Busy Time for Us }

 Sorry I have not posted since the 4th because it been hectic around here. We have been having some work done to the house and buying and picking out colors for the painters and lighting for the electricians and having a few tress removed.  And my Mom finally goes to see the specialist for her knee replacement on Tuesday. I will find out when she will have her surgery and that will be another thing to keep me really busy. I'm trying to get as much done before she has the surgery and get as much done with the house. This is going to be a crazy week for us.

 We also had a death in the family last week. It was Sal`s Grandmother, so that has keept us really busy with all the family coming and making all the arrangements and I'm also making a couple of projects for the funeral. So its really hectic here and we are all just trying to get things done. I'm glad I am able to help out in any way I can so its keeping me busy. I will keep you updated soon as I have a chance, I just wanted to let you know I'm still here and give you a little update.

{ Crafted At the Port Visit }

 I to a trip to San Pedro yesterday afternoon to go and check out Crafted At The Port Of Los Angeles
and it was really cool! This was its first weekend and I was impressed even though it was only 1/3 of the building was complete. I was visiting with a few of the venders and they said the first day they had about 30 new venders fill applications to be a part of the Crafted group. They still have more work to be done and some of the venders were not open yet. I liked all the venders and all the different crafters who were selling there. They had food and a live band and pony rides for the kids. It looked so cool on the inside it had an old vintage barn feel to it and in the middle they had 3 of the hugest ceiling fans I had ever seen! It is only open on the weekends and there are 2 huge warehouses and building 10 is opening first then they will do building 9. I know it will get better as time goes on and they had a huge response to them opening and people really seem to like the idea if a huge craft market place for us here at the port of Los Angeles. Here are just a few photos I took just to give you an idea. I really recommend you go and check it out one of these weekends.

Enjoy your Sunday and thanks again for visiting!
