Look what came yesterday

Look at what came in the mail for me yesterday. A box full of Tattered Angels!!!I was so excited because I got new colors!I added them to my inventory to see what new colors I need to get...lol I finished this 10x10 layout of my Grand Parents I found last night. I used Tim Holts paper and I made the large lace flower using a 4 inch Gluber I just recently purchased. They are just like a giant glue dot but better. I cant wait to create flowers with them using different materials. The photo of my Grand parents was taken about a year before my Grandfather passed away and its been 9 years now. I miss them both so I did this quick little layout for my Mom.

Today will be a sad day for us because one of my cousins passed away and we are going to the services. He was from my Dads side and he recently lost his parents. So may he rest in peace.

Fun day with my friend

Yesterday I had a great time with my friend Wonda. We went to go have lunch at one of my favorite restaurants and now I think its going to be here's also. She brought over all her Tim Holtz dies for me to choose which ones I wanted. I only choose 4 styles so we cut them out and then we were placing another
scrapbook order online. We were experimenting with  different glimmer mist and glam paint for fun.
It was a nice to spend the day with her and she brought us an invitation for her birthday party which she made them herself and they are beautiful. I cant wait until her next visit.

Finished Banner

Here it is...finally I finished it! It spells out (SCRAPBOOK JOE) and I made this for my Scrap room. I used Maya Roads chipboard banner book and the paper is from 7Gypsies one of my Favorite lines. And I added K&CO bird nest and embellishment stickers to dress it up a bit. I also added some small lights across the banner to light it up at night. I really came out quite nice, I was not sure what I was going to come up with. I think I am going to create a smaller banner with the new mini chipboard pieces I bought from paper accents. I will keep you all posted when I do but today I think I need to get into the holiday mood coming up 4th of July so I feel a layout coming on.

Until next time enjoy your beautiful day !

Beautiful Sunday

Today was  Sunny warm day today and a perfect day to do a little gardening and doing a little scrapping! My 2 favorite flowers are blooming like crazy again ! It is from  my great grandmother's house and the Rose bush is from one of my grandmother's sister who sent us to plant after she past away and its call Sisters rose. Its so beautiful and cheery like my Grandmas was, I love to go in the yard every morning to see it because it brings a smile to me just like grandma did. She loved her garden as I did. I will post pictures later of my banner I am finishing up .

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Creative day

I am having a creative day today. I had started this banner a while back but never had the chance to finish it. So last night I got it all out to work on and I am scrapping away. Its Maya roads chipboard banner and the paper is from 7 Gypsies. I also painted the letters with Tattered Angles glam paint that made the chipboard letters a shiny black.I am going to see if I can add bird embellishments to it from K&CO.I hope to finish it this weekend and I will post pictures when I am done.

Enjoy your weekend!

Moms 50th Aniversary

Yesterday would have been my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My Dad past away 12 years ago but we still celebrate with Mom. We took her to lunch and we bought a beautiful plant and flower arrangement for her.She wanted to spend a quite day at home and she told us that 50 years ago today on June 24,1961 she married my dad and misses him very much. It was a good day but yet a sad day because my dad was not here to celebrate with my mom.

Happy Fathers Day

Wish all the Fathers a Happy Fathers day !

My Father, My Guiding Light

Dad, you’re like the sun to me,
a sure thing, always there,
beaming light and warmth on my life.
Whatever is good in me today,
I owe to your wisdom, your patience,
your strength, your love.
You taught me by example,
as a role model,
how to be my own person,
how to believe in myself,
instructing me without controlling me.
Even when we disagreed,
you held us together,
so our bond was never broken.
I understand what you did for me,
and I am so grateful that I have you
as my solid foundation, my rock.
I respect you, I admire you, I love you,
my guiding light, my father.

Fathers day layout

Here is what I was working on last night. We will be going to the cemetery today before the crazy rush for fathers day. My family all get together to take flowers and we like to take a little gift to leave for them. I thought this would be nice even if its only for a few days until they remove them. I reinforce the back with chipboard and then I seal them in self seal bags to keep them dry. We miss my Dad and Grandpa every day but I know they are always with us in spirit!
Hope every one enjoys their weekend!

Home made salsa

I decided to make some home made salsa today. I wanted to share with you that I make it myself which I was taught by Sal`s sister.I grill the tomatillos and roast all the chilies then I blend it all together with salt and fresh garlic. I make a red roasted Chile California salsa which I add Chile arbol to give it a kick. Also a xtra spicy green Serrano salsa. I have mastered the making of them both and my neighbors love them. I share with both my neighbors, because I make a huge batch every time. I don't have a recipes, its just how I was taught to make them. I make them every week and you bet we use all of it!
